Janet Jackson is getting an award from an organization that monitors how gays and lesbians are depicted in the media. She will be getting a special award from GLAAD, 1 of 2 singers to be honored for their work this past year. The other is Rufus Wainwright. Among networks, ABC leads in nominees for the 19th Annual GLADD Media Awards. It has nine nods from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Among the shows up for honors is "Ugly Betty," which stars America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams. CBS has three nominations, NBC two and Fox two. The nominated awards will be given out among four ceremonies to be held in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and southern Florida this spring.
