We watched her grow from a pigtailed child actor on TV's "Good Times" into a sultry singing superstar in "Control" in the '80s. Last night, the oh-so-private former pop princess, JANET JACKSON, turned 40 with a star-studded birthday bash in Hollywood.
"A lot of people I haven't seen in years were invited and it's nice that they came," said Janet, who arrived at hot spot Shag looking slim and trim in baggy white pants and a matching white tank and jacket.
At her side, of course, was R&B megaproducer JERMAINE DUPRI, and pals PARIS and NICKY HILTON.
"My mom's known her since they were teenagers," Paris explained. "I've always loved her music."
Inside, the bass was pumping and the champagne was flowing as an even bigger music superstar, STEVIE WONDER, waited to serenade Janet before she blew out the candles on her chocolate cake. insider.tv.yahoo.com/celeb/4157/
