On Friday Sept. 30, 2005 the start of the first round of auditions began where people from all over the tri-state area took part. The first round of auditions in New York City's west village brought starry eyed hopefuls to a simple yet very professional auditorium. The location was in the city where art and creativity flourishes on every corner. New York City is often called the music capital of the world, a search for the next Hip Hop prodigy where rapper wannabes can be found selling their demo on the street was apropos to the environment.
The hip hop project brought excitement to all who tried out. The thought of money prizes, concert engagements and recording opportunities if selected for The Joe Jackson Hip Hop Boot Camp is a dream able to become reality for the inspiring young rappers. Joe Jackson’s project involves cultivating the fundamentals of the artistic and musical growth of the competitors. The Joe Jackson Hip Hop Boot Camp will also serve as a tool of guidance giving the participants valuable learning experience on how they can improve as an entertainer. The camp will be a platform for young rappers to be helped with obtaining the next steps in their hip hop career.
