Here is the write up on Titos show at BB KINGS "WHAT A MAN, WHAT A BAND, WHAT A FAMILY"
I just wanted to drop a few lines about Tito's Concert at BB KING'S held at the beautiful Universal Studios in LA.
It was such a great evening. The house was a packed house it was a small club but nice, with both downstairs and both upper levels filled. I saw a lot of fans from the different message boards there having a "dancing" good time!!
The evening started with Ginger Jackson (not a relative) and she belted out some of her new tracks off her cd coming out soon. She was getting us ready for what we thought would be Tito and his band next, but we were surprised with the next act.
Miss Nicole Jackson, (who is related to the family) took the stage and from the first note, had us all captivated by her performance. What a voice and what a stage presence this beautiful young lady has! I will be personally watching to see what she does next. I know she is listed to have an acting part in Mr. Jackson's upcoming movie "Blended," so Im sure we will hear more about her. She also came back during Tito's wardrobe change so I will share some more about her in a little bit.
Then the moment we were all waiting for came with such excitement as the band really started gearing up with loud drum rolls and Jamming guitar chords!! You could feel the excitement in the room because while the band was letting us know that Tito was about to take the stage.. you could see a long table being set up in the front row, and before we knew it Mr. and Mrs. Jackson moved from their original seats to this area, front and center with the stage. I am thinking this would be the proper time to let you all know who was in attendance......
Give me a Jackson name, and Ill tell you they were there, (minus Michael) but he was there Im sure in his heart. I am talking wall to wall Jackson's!! Ive never seen so many Jackson's in one room. From left to right, and Im sure I will forget some names (I do not know all of the grandchildren, and cousins, nieces and nephews and children's names) I am sorry about that.... There was:
Jackie, Latoya, Janet, Jermaine, Randy, Rebbie, , 3T, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, and so many more that they took up the whole back wall of booths.
You could see the pride, the excitement and the love pouring out of them when Tito took the stage. (you all know I was taking notes of every expression and body movement! lol)
Tito played the blues with such emotion.. his band is outstanding!! I cannot wait for his CD to come out in 2006.
He played a full set.. and then took a stage break, and Miss Nicole took the stage once more and did a tribute to Miss Janet Jackson with 3 songs.. "That's the way love goes," Black Cat Fever" and Miss you Much.. She did an outstanding job.. (I turned to look at Janet to see her expression, because the crowd went wild!! Janet was smiling and tapping to the music. It was a great moment.
Then Tito came back on stage.. and we all started to laugh, because he had put the trademark J5 afro on his head.. and he looked so cute.. Papa and Mama Jackson and the brother's were all clapping loudly.. Tito then went into a set of Jackson 5 faves.. ABC, The love you save, I want you back, he did heartbreak hotel.. etc..
The dance floor was at this time wall to wall fans, grandchildren, etc.. all dancing and we ALL knew the words and Tito would turn the Mic towards the crowd and we all sang along.
It was a wonderful evening.. I would say even a landmark evening due to the fact of all the family members being in attendance..
They were gracious and would shake hands with fans that would come up to their tables.. but the night really belonged to Tito.. except >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> when the concert was over.. 3T got mobbed for pictures and hugs, but you could tell.. Tito didn't mind at all.. Infact he said it goes with the territory..
