The two sides of Janet Jackson make her a 'chameleon,' she says Liz Smith Originally published November 8, 2006
PART OF me is sexy, part of me is very religious, part of me is a family girl, part of me is wild. I'm a tomboy in most things, but I'm girly sometimes too. I like wearing men's suits and I like wearing high heels that defy gravity!"
That is Jacket Jackson, explaining her "chameleon" personality to Hollywood Life magazine. Ms. Jackson, photographed by MKI, gowned in vintage and current designer clothes, looks like a goddess. She should be making movies.
Of her effort to portray Lena Horne on film - pulled out from under her a few years ago - Janet says, "In my deepest heart of hearts, I don't think the decision came from Lena. I think maybe it came from her daughter or the people around her. But that's OK. I still have to respect that, and I still admire her to the fullest."
So a Lena project won't happen. But Hollywood should take a look at Ms. Jackson. Real glamour!
